Background
Dhaneshwar first went to sea in 2004, spending over 16 years serving on geared/ungeared bulk carriers, container vessels, and oil tankers, starting his career as a trainee engineer and working his way up to the rank of Chief Engineer. During his time at sea, he gained considerable experience in the management, operation and maintenance of various marine power plants, including slow and medium-speed diesel engines, and their associated equipment. He also has experience with cargo handling equipment and associated systems, such as cranes and hatch covers, and various tanker equipment and machinery, such as inert gas systems. He was also involved in taking delivery of new build vessels, including attending the shipyard delivery and sea trials, and in economically recycling (scrapping) of older vessels.
He worked as a Vessel Manager (Technical Superintendent) with Anglo Eastern Ship Management Ltd., Hong Kong, for over three years, where he was responsible for handling geared bulk carriers, creating drydock specifications, overseeing numerous vessel drydockings, and supervising major retrofits, including installation of Ballast Water Treatment Systems (BWTS), Shaft Power Limitation (ShaPoLi) systems and stern tube air guard systems. He was also involved in overseeing the crankshaft renewal of a MAN B&W main engine and various major repairs such as those on crane jibs and rudders.
As a surveyor, Dhaneshwar joined our Brookes Bell, Shanghai Office as a Managing Marine Engineer in March 2024. He has surveying experience of contact damage (collision) and damage/cost quantum assessment, main engine damages and can assist hull and machinery (H&M) underwriters, Owners, Protection and Indemnity (P&I) Clubs, Charterers, and Maritime Lawyers with claims and/or disputes.
