Damen - the Dutch headquartered master yacht builder - has celebrated the launch of two superyachts in one day.
Created at Damen’s shipyard in Vlissingen City, the Netherlands, the two vessels were Amels Limited Editions - one being a 74-metre Amels 242, and the other being a 60-metre Amels 200.
The two superyachts feature custom exteriors designed by the legendary designer Tim Heywood. The interiors of the two yachts were designed by Winch Design.
The Amels 242 is the eighth of its kind to be launched, and this particular example features a distinctive Flag Blue hull and an Oyster White superstructure. Winch Design took this colourway and incorporated it into multiple interior elements.
Other standout features on this example of an Amels 242 include a dedicated owner's deck with jacuzzi, a large aft swimming pool, a lower deck wellness space and six staterooms that can accommodate 12 guests.
Commenting on this yacht, Peter Dijkwel, Project Manager at Damen Yachting, said:
“The owner wanted something different, and that is certainly what he has achieved, especially with the variety of marbles. This Amels Limited Edition superyacht is a great testament to the range and its flexibility - we can make anything work with this platform. That said, we couldn’t have done it without the consistent and positive cooperation with the owner’s representative. This yacht has been created entirely on schedule and will be delivered on time on 1st June 2024”.
This particular Amels 200 is the fourth of its kind to have launched and features a number of unique additions, including a balcony on the main deck and exterior bars on every level. This Amels 200 also has an unusual Whisper Grey hull.
Tom Oomkens, Project Manager at Damen Yachting, commented:
“This yacht perfectly reflects the owner’s unique vision. There are many great details, for example, the windbreakers have been upgraded to feature a dark grey tone to mimic the windows. The owner had many exciting design ideas and is experienced - which benefited the project hugely”.
